Gates to the World

Etched and leafed glass treatment and metal cutout wall piece

Vineland Branch Library, San Jose,CA - 2004

TransPlant

Sandblasted and metal leafed plant imagery on a soaring library window wall. The plants depicted are used in local landscaping and all have their origin in Asia and India; the same countries that the majority of this branch library patrons hail from.

Gates to the World

45 feet of cut steel and bronze imagery hang above the children’s area of the library. The objects suggest doorways and gates; a reference to the unlimited paths that books lead to.
